Face of the Day

Having meetings at work meant that I had to make sure that my makeup was not too crazy, but I still wanted a fun makeup look. Being in the arts means that I can get away with more than a lot of people with my makeup and style. I wanted to have a statement lip because that's a trend that I am loving right now.

Face
I started by mixing Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox Beauty Balm with Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation in Ivory to achieve a better color match and a semi-matte finish. For concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes, I used the Cle de peau concealer in Ivory, and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light was used to set everything.

I just wanted a bit of extra warmth, so I did some contouring with Bare Minerals Faux Tan. For blush, I used Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Adored. This blush has lots of silver sparkle that doesn't come across as too much on the cheeks but gives a slight icy highlight that I think is really fun.

Eyes
After I primed my eyelids using Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I applied Laura Mercier eyeshadow in Baroque on the lid and Burnished in the crease and outer corner. (A swatch of Baroque can be found in this post.) For a subtle highlight under the brows, I used MAC eyeshadow in Mylar.

To line my eyes, I used one of my favorite liners, Tarte Skinny Smolder Eyes in Moonstone Brown, and I used Covergirl Flamed Out mascara in Very Black Blaze.
Lips
This look was all about the lips. I lined and filled in my lips with Prestige Waterproof Lipliner in Diva. Then, I went over it with the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. I still wanted a more saturated color, so I topped it off with a light layer of MAC Show Orchid.
