Tom Ford Holiday 2013

I purchased two items from the Tom Ford Jasmine Rouge Holiday 2013 Collection  and wanted to go ahead and give you my first impressions while these products are still available.

The nail lacquer, 27 Trophy Wife,  is described as a rich cherry. It has a bit of a sheen to it without coming across as shimmer. The sheen really just gives the nail polish extra shine. I like nail polish, but I don't think I've ever had quite the same reaction to a nail polish as I had to this one. It's amazing. The brush is fantastic! The brush evenly disperses the product with ease. I didn't have to go over any thin spots because the brush does such a good job placing the nail color.  The polish itself is thick without being goopy and was opaque in one coat. I never only apply just one coat. Well, not until now! It has been on my nails a few days now and is staying put nicely. I have a bit of minimal tip wear but no chipping. My only complaint is that I wish the bulky lid came off and had a smaller handle for the brush like some other brands do. When you twist the cap back on, it doesn't completely line up with the corners of the bottle.

I also purchased one of the lipsticks from the collection in the color 29 Vampire Kiss. As it is the corresponding lipstick to the Trophy Wife nail polish, this is also described as a rich cherry. The color is a berry red with a hint of a shimmer sheen running through it. Do no mistake that for meaning glitter because it is not glitter or anything that could feel gritty at all. It's simply a subtle shimmer. The packaging is very substantial and luxurious. The application is very nice, and I enjoy how smoothly the product applies. The lipstick has a thicker and more substantial texture to it without feeling too heavy on the lips. It moisturizes while still staying in place. The staying power is very impressive, especially since this does not claim to be a long wearing lipstick. The first time I wore this lipstick, I was singing in a concert. It lasted through the concert and through dinner afterwords. It didn't even make a mark on my glass of water! The majority of red lipsticks I have tried bleed on me, but Vampire Kiss is the first one that has not. I used this without a liner, and it did not move or bleed. I am very impressed!

This is my first experience with the Tom Ford nail lacquers and lipsticks, but I do have an eyeshadow quad and a blush. While I do enjoy my older Tom Ford products, these blew me away. The lipsticks and nail lacquers are the products to purchase from this brand. To sum it up, these products are exactly what a luxury cosmetics line should be -- an experience.
