Hask Keratin Protein and Argan Oil Hair Care

I am so excited to tell you about two hair care lines from a company called Hask. The fact that their products are free of parabens and sulfates made me jump at the chance to try some things. I try to use more natural products whenever I can.

The Keratin Protein line claims "Keratin Protein will give dry, frizzy hair a miracle makeover by strengthening & smoothing every strand from the inside out." I have long hair that gets heat styled regularly, so it sounds like my hair could use that!

Keratin Protein Smoothing Shampoo and all of the other products in the Keratin Protein line have a beautiful fruity berry scent.  The shampoo foams up nicely and cleans without giving your hair that crunchy tangled feeling that many more natural sulfate free shampoos do.

Keratin Protein Smoothing Conditioner is a bit difficult for me to explain, but difficult in a good way. This stuff is thick and feels very luxurious when you apply. I feel like the product actually absorbs a little into your hair to strengthen it. I don't mean in a way that leaves buildup but in a way in which it gets in there and actually does something. The conditioner rinses out nicely, but I can tell that it gave my hair a boost and made it feel really smooth.

The Keratin Protein Smoothing Deep Conditioner comes in a packet and is meant to be used like a hair mask. After shampooing, you apply this to your hair and leave it on for ten minutes. The product is very thick and does a great job of coating the hair. This deep conditioner makes my hair feel very soft and smooth. There are several uses worth of product in the packet, so I do wish it was resealable. I put mine in a Ziploc bag, so that the product would not be left exposed.

The Keratin Protein Smoothing Lightweight Shine Oil comes in a small tube with a lid and is indeed lightweight. Smoothing this oil through the length of your hair will give you extra shine and softness without the weight. I used this on wet hair before blow drying and again on dry hair before heat styling. My hair felt smooth without feeling heavy. A little goes a long way when using oils, and there are many uses in the small tube.

There's not a huge difference between the the keratin Protein line and the Argan Oil line, but I do notice some differences. The Argan Oil products claims to "Revive & restore the look of dry, damaged & rebellious hair."

The Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo has a pleasant citrus scent. Like the Keratin Protein Shampoo, the Argan Oil Shampoo foams up nicely and leaves the hair clean without stripping it of moisture. I really like how gentle this shampoo is on my hair and scalp.

The matching Argan Oil Repairing Conditioner is thick and nourishing. It does feel different from the Keratin Protein Smoothing Conditioner in that my hair didn't feel quite as smooth. That is to be expected because this is not a smoothing conditioner. My hair was left soft, but it still had volume. The Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner are great options for those of you that have fine, damaged hair. They will moisturize your hair without adding weight.

The Argan Oil Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment is a ten minute treatment to be used after shampooing. It comes in a large packet which, again, I wish was resealable because of the generous amount inside. This hair treatment is very thick and moisturizing. After using this, my hair felt incredibly soft and manageable. The crunchy feeling was gone!

The Argan Oil Healing Shine Hair Treatment oil is lightweight and adds shine without the feeling of buildup. As much as I love hair oils in general, they are usually either are so heavy that it's easy to over apply or so lightweight that they don't do anything at all. These oils have the right balance of softening and smoothing the hair without adding too much buildup and weight.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with all of the products from Hask. I really appreciate that they are a more natural hair care line. All of the products worked really well on my color-treated hair, and my sensitive scalp didn't have any negative reactions. I like to use the Keratin Protein products when I want to style my hair sleek and straight and use the Argan Oil products when I want a style with body.

Let me know if you have tried any of these hair care products and what you think of them.
