BH Cosmetics Forever Glam Palette Review and Swatches

Hello all of my lovely ladies! I hope you are all doing well. I am back with another review of the Forever Glam palette from BH Cosmetics.

Getting right into it, this palette has the same size, layout, and packaging as the Forever Nude palette that I reviewed recently. (Go HERE if you want to see that review!) It has a plastic case with a snap closure and a large mirror in the lid. It feels very sturdy and is a great size for traveling (smaller than an ipad mini). I appreciate that there's no excessive packaging with this palette.

Included in the Forever Glam palette are 2 blushes, 2 lip colors, a highlighter, and 6 shimmer eyeshadows.

Blushes!
The blush duo consists of a light peachy shade with silver glitter and a matte bright pink. I really love the bright pink shade. It is pigmented and blendable and would be suited for most skin tones. The peachy shade has so much going for it, but that chunky glitter just kills. First of all, the glitter gets in the lip colors when you use it. That happened immediately after my brush touched the product the first time I used it. Secondly, glitter is just not attractive on your face unless you are in some sort of costume. I realize that glitter does have its place and can be appropriate, but it is incredibly unforgiving on skin. Making this shade a shimmer or another matte would have been a better choice. The bright pink is so nice that it sort or makes up for the glitter bomb.

Highlighter!
As was the case with the Forever Nude palette, I'm a bit confused with the highlighter, but I'm not as confused this time. It's a light shimmery lavender shade, so I have been using it as a highlighter for under my brows. This may work as a cheek highlighter, but I haven't tried that. I'm not sure if I would like it as a cheek highlight for these blush colors. It may work with a purple-y pink or plum blush, though.

Lippies! OMG Love!
For me, the lip colors were the surprise standouts of the Forever Glam palette. I mean, look at that! There's a vibrant pink with a creme finish and a watermelon red with a creme finish. I love these! Both of the colors are very on trend right now and would look great on so many skin tones. They feel very creamy and last. Usually when I see lip colors in a palette like this (as opposed to an actually lipstick), I expect the colors to be really sheer. That is not the case with these, or with the Forever Nude palette either for that matter! They are very creamy and apply easily with a lip brush.

Top colors:  shimmery peach - shimmery gold
Middle colors: Shimmery taupe - shimmery bronze
Bottom colors: Shimmery purple, dark shimmery blue with blue glitter

Overall, I really like the eyeshadows. All of them are pigmented and blend easily. I really like how you can use each of the rows as a duo! They work really well together. When you do that you get a natural look, a bronze/brown/taupe/neutral look, and a dramatic colorful look. The only eyeshadow I'm not crazy about is the blue color. The glitter causes a lot of fallout. The shimmery shades are so well done that they could have kept this color and just made it shimmery. That would have been a better choice than the added glitter. To me the best option would have been to have a matte black (or dark brown or dark gray), so you can create a more dramatic or smokey eye. I do like the versatility of the eyeshadows. You've got very neutral shades with the option to add a pop of color.

Here are some of the looks I have created using this palette.

Look 1: Eyes- Gold on inner lid and inner corner highlight, Bronze on outer lid, Taupe in the crease, Highlight shade under the brows, Blue used as a liner (Too Faced Better Than False Lashes for mascara)

Lips- Pink lipstick shade

Look 2: Eyes- Gold on inner corners, Peach on lid, Bronze on outer corner, Taupe in crease, Highlight color under the brows, Blue as liner on top lash line, Purple as liner on bottom lash line (Too Faced Better Than False Lashes for mascara-Go HERE for my full review!)

Lips-Red lip color

Look 3: Eyes-Purple on lid, Bronze in crease, Highlight color under brows, Blue as liner (Too Faced Better Than False Lashes for mascara)

I had such a great time playing around with the palette and coming up with looks! This palette is a really great option for a varitey of skin tones. Do you have this palette? What do you think? I love hearing from you!

    1. It was pretty easy to clean the lip colors up and get the glitter out of it, but I was a little mad when it happened. I'm really impressed with what I got from BH Cosmetics. Their stuff is so good for the price! I think they run sales a lot, too. xoxo Lauren
