Current Skincare Routine

Happy Friday! I hope all of you had a great week and have an amazing weekend in store. Today, I want to discuss my current skincare routine. I have gone through the motions of skincare for the past few years, always making sure to wear sunscreen, but a couple of these products have impressed me so much that I just have to tell you about them.

Just so you have a bit of a frame of reference about my skin, I am 31 years old with combination/oily skin. I have had adult acne, and going dairy free has stopped my cystic acne breakouts. I only get small breakouts on occasion now. Currently, my skin hasn't been too oily because winter came to Texas this year. On days when it feels like I live in Texas, then my skin starts getting a little shiny.

The basic components of what I use consist of a serum and a daily moisturizer with at least spf 30. I haven't included a facial wash because I'm using one right now that I think is amazing. They get the job done, but I may not repurchase after I'm finished. Here's what I use in order after I wash my face.

First, I use Perricone MD Blue Plasma. I got this as a sample, and now I don't think I can live without it. It is a daily non-acidic peel. I apply it in the morning after I wash my face. This has made my skin clearer and more even toned. I don't know what I'm going to do after I finish this sample because this is so expensive!

After I let the Blue Plasma dry, I apply the From the Lab Renewing Beauty Elixir No. 602. I wouldn't have known about this, but I won it in a giveaway hosted by ElleSees. This is a peptide serum that I have been using morning and night. It is very hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. I've had some dry patches on my chin from using a prescription acne treatment, and this took care of it. I'm almost out of it, and I'm so sad. This product along with the Blue Plasma are the stars of my skincare routine.

In the same giveaway prize, I got the From the Lab Renewing Eye Serum No. 603. I use this morning and night, and I really like how light and hydrating it is. It absorbs into the skin very quickly, so it doesn't interfere with any of my makeup. For a more detailed review of From the Lab products, check out Elle's review here!

After my serums have had a chance to dry, I apply my daily moisturizer with an spf. My current favorite is the Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion with spf 30. I have a couple that I really like, but I think this one is my favorite. It's very lightweight, but it also does a good job moisturizing. I like this in particular because it comes in a 4 fl. oz. container for a very affordable price. I don't think I have ever paid over $10 for this moisturizer. You get a lot of product for not a lot of money. It's a good buy if you ask me!

Next, I have a couple of products that I don't use every day, but I do use them enough to include them here. If I'm wearing makeup, then I will use the Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. I didn't purchase this with the intention of using it like a primer, but it has a lot of silicone in it. I apply this through my t-zone, so my makeup will last a little longer. I will enjoy using this while I have it, but this isn't a must-have product.

On days when I don't forget, I apply my Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. It has a slight tint with a brightening effect, but I don't think it really will make your dark circles go away. It just covers them up slightly. I do like how creamy it is and the color, but it's not a must-have product.

That's the extent of my skin care routine right now. I really like how this combination of products works for my skin. I think these products have made my skin look the best it has looked in a long time. I am really impressed. Of course there are other masks and peels that I rotate in there depending on what my skin needs, but this is what I use on a daily basis.

I hope you found this post helpful in some way. Please let me know what your skincare standouts are. I love hearing from you!

Dior Rosy Tan 5 Couleurs Palette

Hello and welcome! I hope all of you are having a wonderful week. Today, I have a review of one of my favorite high end eyeshadow palettes from Dior. I am sure you have seen it, but let me present to you the Dior 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Rosy Tan.

This may be the most talked about of the Dior palettes, and for good reason. It's just so easy. I've been going extremely minimal with my makeup these days. A heavy made up look just isn't what I want right now, and this palette provides a wonderful compromise between being barely there and full-on fabulous.

Ingredients

There are several qualities that I absolutely love about this palette. As you can see from the swatches below, this palette is pigmented, but it is also very blendable. Designer makeup brands seem to do blendable eyeshadows very well. When I use this palette, I really don't have to think about what I'm doing. Any and all combinations of these eyeshdows work well together. Usually, I end up using all five colors, and they blend together so well. It never looks like a paint by numbers on my eyes.

Indoor lighting

Direct sunlight
As you can see from the swatches, this palette includes a pink with a satin finish, a shimmery taupe, a matte tan, a dark red toned brown with gold sparkle, and a frosty champagne. I really like that this palette includes a matte color. I like to use the matte tan in my crease to blend out the other colors. The dark brown does contain some very small glitter, but I don't notice it when I apply it. I really like to use that color as an eyeliner, especially on the lower lash line.

Here are some photos of me wearing these lovely eyeshadows!

This is the only eyeshadow palette that I have from Dior, but I must say that I'm very happy to have it in my collection. Have you tried any of the Dior eyeshadow palettes? What do you think of them? Let me know your palette recommendations below!

InstaNatural Argan Oil Hair Mask

Hello and welcome! I hope your week is off to a fantastic start. Today I have a review of the InstaNatural Argan Oil Hair Mask. This prodcut could not have been introduced to me at a better time. It has been so cold that my skin and hair have been incredibly dry.

How I use it:
After I shampoo my hair, I work some of the mask through my hair and leave it on for about 5 minutes as finish doing everything else in the shower. You can leave it in from 5 to 15 minutes.

\
The Argan Oil Hair Mask is made with really great natural ingredients. It does have a strong scent, but luckily I like how it smells. Argan oil has a bit of a nutty smell to it.

My hair really soaks up this mask, so I apply quite a bit. I find this to be moisturizing without weighing down my hair. Since I have such long hair, applying too much product or products that are heavy makes my hair look flat and stringy. That's not really a look I go for. I tend to prefer soft and moisturized, and luckily that's what I get with this mask!
The InstaNatural Argan Oil Hair Mask is currently on sale for $17.95 on Amazon

What do you use when your hair needs extra moisture? Do you have a favorite hair mask? Leave a comment letting me know!

December Favorites

Hello and welcome! I have a few favorites from the end of the year. I almost didn't do this post because not much has changed from my Holiday Makeup post, but I'm really eager to tell you about the new products that have made it to my favorites.

Bed Head Motor Mouth - Let's begin with a new product! This is described by Bed Head as a mega volumizer with gloss, and it does add volume and shine to my hair. The shimmer in the product really makes my hair shine. I got a lot of compliments on my hair the first time I used this.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation - I wear the color Ivory. This is a great long wearing foundation! I love the way that it wear and how it makes my skin look. The price makes it even better.

Laura Geller Balance N Brighten Foundation in Fair - While I don't like this on its own as a foundation, I love how it looks as a setting powder. The has been my powder of choice over the past month and still is.

MAC Blush-Dame - This is the blush I was wearing in my Holiday makeup post. It goes with everything, and is a great anytime blush color.

Korres Lip Butter-Jasmine - When has this not been popular? It's for good reason. Korres uses responsible ingredients in all of their products. This lip butter makes my lips feel smooth and soft, and it smells amazing!

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette - I finally got one of the Naked palettes! This was my Christmas present to myself. I really love all of the colors. So far, Trick, Limit, and Liar are my favorites out of this palette. I am having so much fun with it. I've posted a couple Face of the Day photos on Instagram

Those are my favorite products of December to the present. Something tells me that my Naked 3 palette will be a favorite for quite some time!
