Current Skincare Routine

Happy Friday! I hope all of you had a great week and have an amazing weekend in store. Today, I want to discuss my current skincare routine. I have gone through the motions of skincare for the past few years, always making sure to wear sunscreen, but a couple of these products have impressed me so much that I just have to tell you about them.

Just so you have a bit of a frame of reference about my skin, I am 31 years old with combination/oily skin. I have had adult acne, and going dairy free has stopped my cystic acne breakouts. I only get small breakouts on occasion now. Currently, my skin hasn't been too oily because winter came to Texas this year. On days when it feels like I live in Texas, then my skin starts getting a little shiny.

The basic components of what I use consist of a serum and a daily moisturizer with at least spf 30. I haven't included a facial wash because I'm using one right now that I think is amazing. They get the job done, but I may not repurchase after I'm finished. Here's what I use in order after I wash my face.

First, I use Perricone MD Blue Plasma. I got this as a sample, and now I don't think I can live without it. It is a daily non-acidic peel. I apply it in the morning after I wash my face. This has made my skin clearer and more even toned. I don't know what I'm going to do after I finish this sample because this is so expensive!

After I let the Blue Plasma dry, I apply the From the Lab Renewing Beauty Elixir No. 602. I wouldn't have known about this, but I won it in a giveaway hosted by ElleSees. This is a peptide serum that I have been using morning and night. It is very hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. I've had some dry patches on my chin from using a prescription acne treatment, and this took care of it. I'm almost out of it, and I'm so sad. This product along with the Blue Plasma are the stars of my skincare routine.

In the same giveaway prize, I got the From the Lab Renewing Eye Serum No. 603. I use this morning and night, and I really like how light and hydrating it is. It absorbs into the skin very quickly, so it doesn't interfere with any of my makeup. For a more detailed review of From the Lab products, check out Elle's review here!

After my serums have had a chance to dry, I apply my daily moisturizer with an spf. My current favorite is the Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion with spf 30. I have a couple that I really like, but I think this one is my favorite. It's very lightweight, but it also does a good job moisturizing. I like this in particular because it comes in a 4 fl. oz. container for a very affordable price. I don't think I have ever paid over $10 for this moisturizer. You get a lot of product for not a lot of money. It's a good buy if you ask me!

Next, I have a couple of products that I don't use every day, but I do use them enough to include them here. If I'm wearing makeup, then I will use the Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. I didn't purchase this with the intention of using it like a primer, but it has a lot of silicone in it. I apply this through my t-zone, so my makeup will last a little longer. I will enjoy using this while I have it, but this isn't a must-have product.

On days when I don't forget, I apply my Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. It has a slight tint with a brightening effect, but I don't think it really will make your dark circles go away. It just covers them up slightly. I do like how creamy it is and the color, but it's not a must-have product.

That's the extent of my skin care routine right now. I really like how this combination of products works for my skin. I think these products have made my skin look the best it has looked in a long time. I am really impressed. Of course there are other masks and peels that I rotate in there depending on what my skin needs, but this is what I use on a daily basis.

I hope you found this post helpful in some way. Please let me know what your skincare standouts are. I love hearing from you!
-xoxo Lauren
