August 2015 Empties

August is over and done with, and I have used up quite bit of products in just one month. Since I decided to participate in Sample September, today is the perfect day show you what I used up.

What is Sample September? Basically, I'll be pulling out all of my samples and trial size products and actually putting them to use. When you get so many samples through purchases or subscription boxes, it's so easy for them to just add up in a drawer somewhere and never get used. I'm particularly guilty of hoarding perfume samples. Now is the time to try some new products!

Skin care:

elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths - I've used these before, and they're okay. They work really well as far as cleansing cloths go, but they aren't my favorite.

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream - The consistency is more like a gel. It's a nice eye cream for daytime wear because it looks nice under makeup. I liked it, but I'm not sure that it did much for me.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - I was so excited when I bought this because it's such a popular product, but sadly, it's not for me. I couldn't tell a difference in my skin.

Beauty Treats Peach Oxygen Bubble Mask - This is the first of the masks that I have tried from my Daiso haul. It's a really interesting mask. You apply it to your face when it's dry, and it bubbles up rather quickly. You don't have to keep it on after it bubbles. It's a nice brightening mask, and it's perfect for anyone who doesn't have the time to wait 10-20 minutes for a mask. I really enjoyed this one, and I'll be getting it again! I put a picture on Snapchat the day I used it, so you can follow me there for more mask mayhem and up to date shenanigans.

Hair Care:

Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray - I used this as a flat iron spray and sometimes with my curling iron. This doesn't have any hold to it. I just used it for the heat protection. I got this specific one because it doesn't have alcohol listed in the ingredients. I would buy this again, but I have another similar spray I should use up first.

Body Care:

Jurlique Rose Body Cream - I don't use body lotions or creams with any regularity, but this is a nice one. I appreciate all of the naturally hydrating ingredients in this cream. Many of Jurlique's products come with an expiration date on them. Because they're a more natural brand the products will expire more quickly than ones with preservatives. I would use this again.

Banana Boat Kids spf 50 sunscreen - I'm throwing this away because it's old and I think it may have given me some body acne. I'm not really sure, but I don't want to chance it. I liked it when it was new.

Wet n Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder - Natural - I used this as a setting powder or as a light powder foundation. It was a nice product and extremely affordable. I would get this again.

VIIcode Oxygen Eye Cream - This sample came with the Oxygen Eye Masks that I reviewed last month (here). It was very moisturizing, but I don't know how to get the eye cream on its own. From what I can tell, VIIcode only sells the eye masks.

Kate Somerville HydraKate Serum - This is a very expensive product, so of course I loved this deluxe sample. This serum manages to be both lightweight and hydrating, so it's a perfect serum for me to use in the morning before my moisturizer with spf.

Pucci Miss Pucci Eau de Parfum - This old sample barely had one use left. Miss Pucci is a nice fragrance for summer. It has a lot of citrus with a little vanilla. To my nose, it smells quite similar to Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.

That's 11 more empties down bringing my yearly count to 71. That's a ridiculous amount of products, and there's still more where that came from!

I hope you can join me in the Sample September challenge! I really want to use most of my sample stash before I get my first Sephora Play box and start receiving even more samples. Who's with me?

Let's be friends!
