Play! by Sephora | November 2015

I received my third box from Play! by Sephora last week. For those of you that are curious, Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box for $10 a month that contains six samples every month. All of the samples are of products that you can purchase at Sephora. There was a waiting list when I signed up, and I got an email when the service became available to me. You can go to sephora.com/play if you want to get on the list.

The Exclusives is the theme of this box, so it contains samples of products that are exclusive to Sephora. Let's take a look inside.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Lip Pencil in Rhubarb - I was really excited to see this in the box, and then I realized that I have the same color. Rhubarb was in a holiday set that I reviewed here. This plum rose color is an easy to wear everyday color. I haven't opened this because I will probably pass it on to a friend.

Josie Maran Argan Oil - Argan Oil is a great all-around moisturizer for skin and hair, and it does not necessarily have to be from a high end brand like Josie Maran. I have another sample of this that I got as a 100 point perk. I may try using these samples on my cuticles.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12HR Wear in My Boyfriend's Jeans - This is an electric blue eyeliner that claims to be waterproof and wear for 12 hours. I haven't worn this yet, but it was very smooth when I swatched it. The swatch didn't budge when I tried to rub it out, and it took a lot of effort to wash it off. It's nice to get an eyeliner that isn't black.

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer in Hydrating Primer - Primer isn't something that I use every day, but I might give this one a try instead of giving it away. I'm curious about how hydrating this really is. It might come in handy this winter. My skin is getting dry already.

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly - Another product I've been wanting to try! I'm not super fond of plumping lip glosses because I don't like the way they feel. This one isn't too intense, so I think it's going to work out. This color would look nice pair with the Bite pencil.

Stella McCartney Stella eau de parfum - Stella is a light rose fragrance. I have been wanting to sample Stella, so I'm glad this came in the box. Every box has had a fragrance in it, so far. I enjoy trying new fragrances, but I know not everyone is happy to see perfume in these boxes.

Overall, I'm happy with the products included in this month's box, but I'm still not as excited about this subscription as I thought I would be. It's not that the samples aren't good samples. They are. This box is the best one I've received so far. I'm just not seeing anything new or different from the samples I've already collected from Sephora orders and point perks over the years. If you're a new beauty junkie, then these samples would be amazing. For me, it just keeps falling flat, even with the good samples that are in this box. I'm going to give this service another couple of months before I consider cancelling.

Glossybox | November 2015 & Face of the Day

My Glossybox came this week! I have been loving this subscription box, so it's exciting when it arrives at my door. This month's box included a nice mix of makeup, skincare, and body care items.

If you don't know what Glossybox is, it's a monthly beauty subscription service that delivers five deluxe and often full size beauty products to you. The cost is $21 a month, but you can buy a 6 or 12 month subscription and pay up front. The 12 month subscription comes at a bit of a discount. If you decide to subscribe to Glossybox, you get points for referring people and for taking surveys on the products included in the box. The points go toward a free box! Here's my referral link for anyone interested.

Florapy Floral Therapy Facial Sheet - Sweet Dreams Mask - I've never heard of this brand before, and just judging by their site, appears to be a small company. Of all of the masks available, I'm so glad I got sent this one to use at night. Lavender is always a favorite, and I'll let you know what I think about. You know I'm loving empties posts right now!

Crabtree & Evelyn LA Source Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy - It has been so long since I have used a Crabtree & Evelyn product! I love a good hand cream, so I was happy to see this. It has a marine scent to it that reminds me of men's cologne, but it's not strong.

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow - You're Toast - I like mineral shadows, but they are messy. Even the smaller sizes aren't very practical to pack during travel because the product can get everywhere. You're Toast is described as a neutral brown, but it looks more like a shimmery golden orange to me. It's very wearable and appropriate for the fall and works well with many colors that I already have in my collection.

Beauty For Real - D-Fine Perfect Lip Pencil - This is supposed to be a universal shade to go with any lipstick or lipgloss. While I don't think it would be the best to go with any shade (like a bright shade) it looks nice paired with a neutral or nude lip.

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme - It's a good thing that I have been going through so many skincare items because I have so many moisturizer samples now. I haven't tried many products from Estee Lauder other than the Advanced Night Repair, so I look forward to giving this a try.

Overall, this is another successful box from Glossybox. There's nothing in this box that I would not want to use, and I appreciate the inclusion of natural and cruelty free items. The box is very well-rounded in types of items and brands represented.

What do you think of this box? See anything here you would like to try?

Fall Empties 2015

It seems as if I'm constantly posting about my empties here, but I have been using up products left and right! I guess I shouldn't complain because it's really a good thing, but I may consider keeping my empties in a bigger bag.

Let's start with some hair products!

Biolage by Matrix Keratindose Conditioner - does a nice job of strengthening hair. It doesn't give it that silky smooth feeling, but my hair doesn't break as easily when I use this. I really like every Biolage conditioner I have ever used.

InstaNatural Argan Oil Hair Mask*- This is a great mask that you could also use as a conditioner. It's very hydrating. Here's my review.

Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Frizz-Immunity Conditioner*- This conditioner did indeed make my hair feel smoother. I'm not a fond of some of the other products in this line, but I do like this conditioner.

CHI Silk Infusion - This stuff makes my frizzy hair so smooth. I could tell a difference in my hair when I ran out of it and couldn't use it anymore. This had been lost in my bathroom cabinet and was really old, but it still worked well.

Derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub - I got this sample in the Whole Foods beauty bag. It's a great scrub, and I can understand why it's everyone's favorite.

Avon Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion - This is a nice eye makeup remover. It didn't sting my eyes, and most of them do. I'm still on the lookout for an eye makeup remover that I really love. Let me know if you have a favorite.

Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover - This is a dual phase remover, so it's one of those that you have to shake. I think a family member gave this sample to me. It worked pretty well.

Maybelline The Colossal Mascara - This is an excellent drugstore mascara. There isn't a mascara that I have tried from Maybelline that I don't like. I love the volume that I get from this mascara. I already have another one.

Ultraflesh Panthera Mascara - I've talked about this in empties posts before. Sadly, this is a discontinued product.

Eucerin Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion SPF 30 - This is my favorite daily moisturizer with spf. It's great if you have sensitive skin. I am using another one. I may switch to something slightly more rich when it gets colder, but I will always use this. You can find it for as low as $6 at Target. I cannot recommend this enough. It's such a great buy!

OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Tonic*- This toner contains glycolic acid and vitamin C. I really enjoyed getting to test this out, and I really like it. I really like glycolic acid toners, and I need to buy another one. I was pleasantly surprised by this!

Perricone MD Nutritive Cleanser - This and the other Perricone MD products came in a brand sampler set that my mom gave me as a gift. She keeps me in good skincare, and I am grateful! Going by the name, I was expecting this to be a cream cleanser, but it's a gel. I really liked it. I prefer gel cleansers.

Perricone MD Serum Prep - This is a strange product. It's basically a toner, and this stuff smells. I mean, it stinks, y'all. If that's going to bother you, then stay away from this! I have found that with Perricone MD, the worse it smells, the better it works. I really like how my skin looks when I use this, but it's extremely expensive.

Perricone MD High Potency Amine Face Lift - It uses DMAE to firm skin, and it works. I used this in the morning under my daily moisturizer. This is one Perricone MD product that does not smell bad, and it still works!

Dior Capture Sculpt 10 Yeux Focus Firming Eyelids - I this is discontinued because the places I see that it's available are Amazon and Overstock. I liked this eye cream because it sinks in quickly and doesn't feel too rich and greasy around my eyes. Sometimes, that's okay, but I usually prefer non-greasy products.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - It wouldn't be an empties post without these! I used up two of these. They're just so easy to use and work really well. I get a box of these from Costco. You can also buy a box of them on Amazon. I believe that Sam's Club has them too.

Sephora Pearl Fiber Mask - I got this in my last Play! by Sephora box. It was nice to give it a try, but this one wasn't for me. You can read about that in my post about that box here.

Spongelle Pedi-Buffer*(not pictured) - This foot scrubber was really nice to use at the end of the summer. I have a review here.

I have been using up so many products lately. There are more products going into my empties bag already! That's a good thing, though. I'm always happy to try new things and hopefully find new favorites.

Have you found any new favorites lately?

As you can see, I still have plenty of Jurlique products in my stash, but I would like to try a couple of the lavender body care items, especially the Lavender Hand Cream
