February Subscription Boxes | Glossybox & Play! by Sephora

Both my Glossybox and Play! by Sephora box arrived last week. These are two very different subscriptions, so this isn't so much of a comparison as it is showing you my subscription boxes. This month's Glossybox came in a special Valentine's Day themed box, even though it arrived well after the holiday. I appreciate the cute box anyway.

What is Glossybox?
  • Monthly beauty subscription service
  • Delivers 5 deluxe and/or full size products
  • $21/month - 6 month & 12 month options
  • Subscribe to Glossybox, and get points for referring people and for taking surveys on the products included in the box. Here's my referral link for anyone interested.

Teeez Cosmetics Oasis Gem Lipstick - Heat Wave Ruby - This is a longwearing matte red lipstick that stains the lips. I haven't heard of this brand, I like this lipstick. I cannot find a link to this lipstick anywhere, except for the Glossybox German site. The Teeez Cosmetics site doesn't even have it because it's a limited edition color.

Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessional Face Primer - I've used samples of this before. It's a nice blurring primer for any areas with large pores. I like to use this on my T-zone during the summer.

BioRepublic Skincare Sheet Mask - Aloe Rescue - I've been getting a lot of different sheet masks in my subscription boxes lately, but I like trying all of the different brands. I can't wait to give this a try!

Glamglow Thirstycleanse Daily Hydrating Cleanser - Glamglow has really interesting cleansers. I received a sample of the Supercleanse in my first Play! by Sephora box. (Review of that box here.) Like that cleanser, this one is also a mud to foam cleanser that you start off using over dry skin then add water. It cleans really well but is also moisturizing, and it has a really nice smell.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Golden Skin Roll-On Caviar Eye Gel - Claiming to erase signs of fatigue, this eye gel is firming and cooling. It's very lightweight, so it goes well under makeup. If you want something more creamy and moisturizing, this isn't a good option for you.

Overall, I like the mix of brands that I know and like and brands that are new to me in this box. I do wish that there would have been another makeup item instead of so much skincare in this box, but at least I like the skincare that was included. On to the Play! by Sephora box!

What is Play! by Sephora?
  • $10/month beauty subscription box
  • 6 samples of products from Sephora
  • sign up at sephora.com/play
  • comes with a Play Pass that you redeem in store with a purchase for 50 extra Beauty Insider points
  • This month's theme - Now & Later

Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau de Parfum - This is one of my favorite fragrances. It's deep and woody and not for everyone. People seem to love it or hate it, so it's one you need to sample first. I have a small bottle of this. I love this fragrance, but I really wish they would have included a sample of one of Tom Ford's newer fragrances.

Lâncome Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner - Noir Intense - I have another sample of this in a blue color, and I really like it. It stays put until you remove it. Great product!

Bumble and bumble Prêt-à-powder - This is a dry shampoo, volumizer, and style extender in one. I like dry shampoo, so this will get plenty of use. My only exposure to Bumble and bumble products has been through this box. This is the product I'm the most excited to see in here.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara - I have used this mascara before, and it's one of my favorites. I love getting mascara samples.

Bare Minerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm - Plumberry Pop - It really feels like an oil balm! It feels great on the lips and has nice color. It's more pigmented than I was expecting. It feels like a balm and looks like a lipstick.

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural - N9 Copper Pink - This was a birthday gift from Sephora, so I already have this. It's a nice color, but I will be passing the extra one along. (Photos below are of my old one. I didn't swatch the new one.) I'm not crazy about getting a repeat sample.

The February Play! by Sephora box was pretty good, but there are still two items that I already have. I like that they took it easy on the skincare this month and included more makeup items.
