Jesse's Girl Eyeshadow Palettes

I really need to start a series on this blog about products that I forgot to blog about. Does that happen to anyone else? A couple of month's ago Ashely from Ashley Sue Makeup and I did a swap. Because I don't have a Rite Aid close by, she sent me a couple of palettes and a lipstick from Jesse's Girl Cosmetics. From what I can tell, there's not a lot of Jesse's Girl products available online, so you really do need to go to a store to get most of their items.

Starting with the colorful palette, I have the Jesse's Girl Eye Color Collection in Tickled Pink. This palette has nine shades ranging from pinks and purples to oranges and reddish browns. With the exception of the pink shade, all of the shadows have a shimmer finish. I immediately knew I would like this palette because purples are some of my favorite colors to wear. That light purple shade makes a great one color eyeshadow look. Most of the shades are really pigmented and blend out nicely. I do wish that the pink shades were more pigmented, but I can get the color to build up over a primer. I wear eyeshadow primer every day, so that isn't much of a problem for me.

Here's a look I created using some of the orange tones.

Next, I have the Jesse's Girl Back Stage Collection Sounds of the City Collection eyeshadow palette. This is a great palette for a neutral lover. There are ten eyeshadows in this palette -- six shimmer and satin shades on the top row and four mattes on the bottom row. Most of the shades lean pretty cool toned. I don't have any of the Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes, but I get the same vibe looking at this one that I do when I see those. I didn't know what to expect just looking at the colors (you never know with any palette really), but when I applied them they were very easy to work with. The matte shades blended beautifully. The only shade that's slightly disappointing is the shimmery white shade. It was a bit patchy when I swatched it. I've only used it for highlighting small areas, so it's not even a big deal. Sometimes, eyeshadows behave differently when applied with a brush than they do when swatched.

Here's a look I wore using this palette.

I'm really impressed with both of these palettes. They're really nice quality shadows, and I was able to achieve some great looks with both of these palettes. Thank you so much Ashley for sending these to me!  It was so nice to try a new brand.

Have you tried any of the Jesse's Girl eyeshadow palettes?
