Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Fresh Effect Eyeshadow - 157 Beige Doré

The eyeshadow stick is one of my favorite products ever. I blame Laura Mercier. The Caviar Sticks are my go-to eyeshadows for getting made up in a hurry. Recently, I allowed myself to take a stroll near the Chanel counter and noticed some new/repromoted limited edition stick eyeshadows, the Stylo Eyeshadow Fresh Effect Eyeshadows. Being the sucker that I am for a gold eyeshadow, I got the light gold shade, Beige Doré.

This product is described as "A lightweight, water-infused formula glides on effortlessly and cools lids at the touch for instant comfort." I used this before I looked up any description of the product, and I can say that it does have a cooling effect and feels water-infused. Once applied, this sets almost instantly. If you want to blend it out, you have to act fast! It's very long-wearing and doesn't crease at the end of day. This is a good one to use as a base for eyeshadows, if you like to layer products. Powder eyeshadows wear well over this shadow stick, too.

Do you have a favorite eyeshadow stick? I've heard that the 24-hour Eye Shadow & Liners from Trish McEvoy are really great, but I haven't tried those yet. Let me know if you have!

Products I've Tried from IT Cosmetics

IT Cosmetics isn't a new brand, but it has taken some time for me to warm up to it. Sometimes, I get overwhelmed by so many products, and if I can't buy everything, then I end up getting nothing. I'm sure many of you can relate. Fortunately, I've purchased some items here and there, and I got a few things for Christmas.

Celebration Foundation SPF50+ (Light) - This powder foundation has medium/buildable coverage. Once applied, the coverage looks creamy and smooth, a nice option for dry skin. This is one of the few powder foundations that does not accentuate dry patches on me. With SPF50, this is going to be perfect for the summer.

Bye Bye Under Eye (Neutral Medium) - When it comes to using this full coverage undereye concealer, less is more! Just the tiniest amount is all you need to cover underneath both eyes. Any more than that will leave you with a cakey mess that will crease like crazy. I like this concealer, but it is not for everyone!

It's Your Beauty Award-Winning Must-Haves Palette - This palette contains a blush, bronzer, setting powder, and cream highlight. Normally, I don't like palettes that contain powder and cream products within the same palette, but these powders don't kick up any dust. All of these products minimize pores and skin texture issues.

  • Bye Bye Pores Pressed Blush (Je ne sais quoi) - I can't find this blush sold on it's own. This bright medium pink reminds me of a darker version of the Dior Rosy Glow blush and has a similar, self-adjusting kind of look.
  • Vitality Matte Bronzer (Warmth) - An easy to blend matte bronzer
  • Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder (Translucent) - Just a little of this powder will eliminate shine and set makeup without any caking. This is a great powder for setting undereye concealer, if that's your thing. As the name would suggest, it doesn't settle into pores or lines.
  • Hello Light Crème (Radiance) -This cream highlighter adds just the right amount of glow to the cheeks to catch the light. There isn't any glitter that will accentuate pores or lines. It adds a very subtle and flattering glow. I like to apply this with a stippling brush, but fingers or a sponge works too. I really like how well this applies over powder products. This highlighter is very easy to work with.
L-R: Blush, Bronzer, Powder (heavy swatch), Highlight

My Sculpted Face Contouring Palette - This contouring palette contains one matte highlighter, one shimmer highlighter, and four contour shades. Aside from the shimmer highlighter, all of the shades are matte. When I first got this palette, I wasn't sure if I would be able to use the super dark color, but I can if I use a very light hand with it. I doubt I will get a lot of use out of it, but it's nice to know that it's possible. I like the mix of warm and cool tones in this palette, and my favorite shades are the two in the middle. This is a really nice palette to have, but I think a makeup artist would get the most use out of this because every color isn't going to work on one person.

I really want to try the IT Cosmetics CC Cream next, and I can't believe that I don't have it already! So far, everything I have tried has worked out for me. I can't wait to try more from this brand.

Glossybox | March 2016

I received my March Glossybox last week! This post is just going to be about Glossybox because I cancelled my Play! by Sephora subscription. It's not that it was a bad subscription; it just wasn't the subscription for me because I kept getting samples of items that I already have. It did not seem like that was going to change anytime soon, so I had to call and cancel. That's another thing that really bugs me about that subscription -- you can sign up online, but they force to you to call them to cancel. There is no option to cancel online, but I'm hoping that this is just because they are still in the market test period with the subscription. They really need to change that once the box becomes more widely available. Once I finally got to speak to a person, after twenty minutes on hold, it was quick and easy. The customer service rep only asked for my email address, and that was it. I called to cancel days before, but I gave up on waiting because I didn't have time for it. Sephora's customer service isn't what it used to be! Of course, I still love all of the brands at Sephora and the store, but I do want you to be aware of this because I was not. Anyway, back to Glossybox!

What is Glossybox?
  • Monthly beauty subscription service
  • Delivers 5 deluxe and/or full size products
  • $21/month - 6 month & 12 month options
  • Subscribe to Glossybox, and get points for referring people and for taking surveys on the products included in the box. Here's my referral link for anyone interested.

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner - I haven't used an Eyeko liner in a couple of years, but I still remember how much I liked it. The Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner is very easy to use and super black. If you can't seem to get your liquid eyeliner just right, try this one!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick - Chihuahua - I got a couple of the Melted lipsticks for Christmas, and I must admit that I like them more than I thought I would. The applicator made it seem like the lipstick would be difficult to apply, but it's quite the opposite! I didn't have this color, and I was so happy to see it in the box. Chihuahua is a neutral mauve color that's easy to apply and long lasting.

Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush 504 - This brush is perfect for contouring and highlighting. It's a very soft synthetic brush that is cruelty free and vegan. I have used this for contouring and applying blush, and I really liked it. I'm interested in getting more of these brushes.

Vine Vera Resveratrol Merlot Moisture Day Cream - I've never heard of this brand before, but it seems to get good reviews. This moisturizer contains the antioxidant, resveratrol, that is found in red wine. I'm very interested in trying this. It's definitely a try-before-you-buy type of product; a full size is $146!

I Love...Cosmetics Super Soft Hand Lotion - Raspberry & Blackberry - Glossybox keeps me in hand lotions! I do use it, but I can't use it fast enough. This is a nice lotion, though. It smells like a raspberry popsicle. Yum! Perfect for summer!

Swatches!
I really love my Glossybox this month, and I'm relieved because I just renewed my subscription. This box includes a nice combination of products, and there are brands I know and like and brands that are new to me. Overall, I think this is a great box!

BITE Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks

I received #TheAmuseBouche VoxBox from Influenster. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ever since arriving on the scene, BITE Beauty keeps improving on the lip product. If you're going to stick to one facial feature, then you might as well create the best products for it. I think it's safe to say that BITE Beauty makes some of the best lip products on the market. The new Amuse Bouche Lipsticks do not disappoint.

BITE created this collection of 34 pigmented lipstick shades using 12 edible oils. The first things I noticed about these is the citrus scent. I was concerned that it would have a strong scent and taste, but it isn't unpleasant and doesn't stick around for too long. The Amuse Bouche lipsticks feel creamy and moisturizing and are long lasting. I have the colors Beetroot, Gazpacho, and Pepper.

Top - Bottom: Beetroot, Gazpacho, Pepper

Beetroot is described as a bold berry color. I wasn't sure about this shade when I first opened it, but Beetroot has turned out to be my favorite in the box. I do need a lip liner with this shade because it can bleed a little. Darker lipsticks have a tendency to bleed on me anyway, so this is not anything new. All photos below are without a liner, and I think that I was able to apply it and define my lips well enough with out it. Beetroot is the most long lasting of the three shades (about 5-6 hours) and even leaves a stain. I'm loving the berry lip right now!

Beetroot
Gazpacho is a true blue-red. This is a red that will look great on so many different skin tones. It was love at first sight with this one because I can't get enough of a red lip. I feel like I need a lip liner with this too, but that's the case with most red lipsticks. Gazpacho also lasts around 5-6 hours on me.
Gazpacho
Pepper, a dusty rose, is perfect for a neutral look. A liner is optional with Pepper, and I usually go without it. It's not quite as long lasting as the darker colors, but I still get a good 5 hours of wear.

Pepper
The Amuse Bouche lipsticks are great quality and made with food grade ingredients. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of BITE as a brand is the commitment to using safe ingredients. I certainly feel better about wearing these on a day to day basis, and I can't wait to try more colors!

Have you tried any of the BITE Amuse Bouche lipsticks? Which shades should I try next?

February Favorites

I have some favorites today! Favorites posts aren't typical here because I'm usually jumping from one product to another, but in the month of February there were a few products that I kept coming back to on a regular basis.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette - I have been using this like crazy ever since I got it. It has a lot of great neutral shades but some fun colors too. Molasses Chip and Café au Lait are my favorites from this palette. I have a review here!

It Cosmetics It's Your Beauty Award-Winning Must-Haves Palette - This palette is from an It Cosmetics set that I got for Christmas. I plan on doing a full review of everything soon, but all of the items in this palette are outstanding. It has a powder blush, bronzer, and pressed powder and a cream highlighter. All of these make my skin look great. I can't get enough of it!

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara - I received this mascara for review, and it has become my favorite mascara of the moment. It gives my lashes a lot of volume without having to apply layer after layer. One coat is all I need for major volume.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Cherry Blossom - This glossy red has been my go-to lipstick for polished on the go. I don't have to use a lip liner with this red, so it has gone everywhere with me lately.

I also have a non-beauty favorite this month - Duolingo. Duolingo is a free site where you can learn a language. It also has a free app. I use both, and I've been learning French. You can add friends on there and see what everyone else doing. My username is singformakeup, if anyone wants a friend. It's a lot of fun, and it's FREE! I'm not affiliated with them at all. I just really love it.

You may notice something a little different in the comments. I decided to start using Disqus because I stopped getting Google+ notifications for my comments after the blog got redesigned, and I don't want to miss anything. With that, I was unable to import the old comments like I thought I would be. I am sorry if that causes any confusion at all, but I'm hoping that this change will lead to a more organized comment section where I will be able to respond to all comments.

What are some of your favorites from February?
